I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how pleased the syndicate are with the Excel Volante 290 we bought from you this winter. It arrived in Lefkas without any problems and has been described by one member as a "Rolls Royce" compared to our previous tender. I agree with him, it's just what we wanted.
Best wishes, Kevan.
I recently purchased a new Exel Virago 520 which I had ordered at the boat show in Southampton. The whole process was handled in a very efficient manner and Terry was very easy to deal with. I am delighted with my purchase, It is exactly what I ordered. The quality of the finish is excellent and the amount of room to move about in the RIB is great with no need to squeeze past the seating and consul. If you are considering buying a RIB of around 5.2 metres then look no further, substantially cheaper than the well known makes but every bit as good from a quality prospective. Boat will be launched this weekend and I will update with video footage ASAP.
Very helpful and good quality Inflatables and electric engines (they sell wide range of alternatives). Well packaged and we took it all home, inflated easily, added engine and off using, within an hour, silently and no fumes! Excellent boats, robust but light, 2 seats so sit in centre, not on tubes. Strongly recommend.
Many thanks for getting my new Variane 260 to me before I get away on holiday. This is the first time I have seen the dinghy in the flesh and I have to say that it's an impressive build. Every part seems well made and more than strong enough for it's purpose. I like the valves, the rowlocks are the best of this type that I have seen and I especially like the twin seat arrangement. The oars are solid and should be simple enough to use (not always the case). The price is good for this level of quality. Altogether first class and I am looking forward to using it on the water.
Kind regards, Stewart Wallace.
I rang you today to ask for a pair of replacement oars, Can you please send me the cost etc. I also wanted to comment on my Excel Voyager 310, Great little boat, no wearing issues and great tube easy to clean and stays White. Will highly recommend as I have had boats for over 40 yrs.

Terry, We have put our Virago 420 RIB with Tohatsu 50hp into service yesterday, doing its first RYA Powerboat Level 2 course. Fantastic!!! It really is superb. Will put some photos etc on our Facebook page soon.
Cheers Steve, Preston Marina
Please feel free to use the following as a reference - just received our Ventura SL260. Unwrapped it and used the hand pump (with pressure gauge) which is much easier than a foot pump + quicker. Unrolled the dinghy and partially pumped up the two outer tubes, then the inbuilt floor. Slid the seat onto its rails. Finally .25bar in outer tubes and .7 bar for the floor. Job done, took about 7-10 minutes.
Quality of build looks good, rows well. With our 3.5 2stroke outboard plus my 13.5 stone on flat sea started to plane at 5 knots, throttle about half open, 3/4 throttle 6.5 knots. Sorry forgot to record flat out speed! When turning it did drift sideways more than our old v shaped inflatable with keel tubing. Conclusion compared to old 2.65 inflatable- much lighter, so quick to inflate we are considering deflating it each time we sail, due to hull and floor design planes easily. We are both 64 plus and can now easily lift it onboard, what a bonus! Built in floor very stable to stand on. Rate it 9 out of 10!
I visited your stand at the London Boat Show. I explained that my RIB was very gradually loosing air and was told that the likely problem was that the valves probably needed tightening. When I said that my repair kit did not contain a valve spanner, I was told - no problem, we will take your address and send you one at no cost. Yesterday the valve spanner arrived by post. That is what I call service !!
Many thanks, Henry Murdoch, Ireland
By the way, we are delighted with the Volante 260 dinghy (my wife says even though it's not blue). It feels sturdy, rows very well and goes well with our 3.5hp outboard.
Many thanks William Parsons
Dear Mr Wright,
What a surprise - to come in contact with you again. The same person who sold me the boat ten years ago is giving me support for the same boat today. Thank you very much for the prompt service.
Kind regards G. Dorau.
Re: Excel Volante 260
Thanks for the replacement air deck floor.
I spent a lot of time researching which tender I should buy to replace my old XL.
I am delighted with my purchase & would have no reservations recommending your product, especially as initially I did experience an issue which was dealt with promptly, to support your advice under the heading on your home page 'Considering buying an inflatable boat online.'
Excellent product, & service.
Thanks again, Kind regard, Phil Evans.
Many thanks for the replacement self-bailer which arrived at the week-end. Excellent service. Very satisfied customer.
Kind regards, John Aries.
Many thanks for such a fantastic Inflatable, it was purchased several years ago at your first Southampton boat show with the Excel and I can confirm that she still looks absolutely brand new. Truely the best Inflatable we have ever owned, three previous types owned.
we would like to compliment you for supply of the Excel Vanguard 4.3m boat and the Tohatsu 20hp outboard engine with electric start. The package has delighted us in every aspect, thank you for your advice and support. Whitemoor Lakes is equipped with a safety boat perfectly equipped for their needs. If you wish to call me to help recommend and endorse you or your products I would be delighted.
Thanks for your prompt reply. Thanks also for identifying the fabric as PVC. We have the original repair kit which shows 2 types of materials (including names like Hypalon, and Neoprene) and we see that the new models boast a fabric called Hytex. Yes, Polymarine are just down the road from us here in North Wales.
Have attached some pics of the boat in use over the last 7 years. This year we completed the whole of the River Thames from upstream of Lechlade, down to Teddington Lock, all in the Excel dinghy! We bought it from you at the NEC Boat and Caravan Show in early 2004, and it is serving us very well.
Best wishes, Owain and Alvina Williams. 8th Aug 2011.
To let you know that the RT260 dinghy and the Torqeedo 1003 motor is an excellent combination. It takes only a few minutes to inflate the boat, get the motor fitted and into the water. I recommend that customers also have a low pressure electronic inflator and a portable 12v SLA battery if it's difficult to use the power outlet from a vehicle. The RT260 is robustly made and the 3 air valves are very secure and easy to latch the inflator to.
The motor provides plenty of power and if used judiciously it can propel the dinghy for several hours at approximately 3mph providing the conditions are fair. Having a second battery pack is a luxury but it is well worth considering if you plan to use the boat frequently because when used alternatively it places both batteries under less stress. The tiller display readily gives good information concerning power use, expectation and speed. From flat the battery will be fully charged within about 14 hours again.
The boat and motor have provided me with a lot of pleasure and relaxation already and I look forward to many excursions to come with this non polluting and very quiet combination.
Thank you, Vaughan Williams Marlow, Bucks.
I don't know if you remember me, I'm Paul from Greece, I bought an SD330 air deck a couple years ago from you and I'd like to congratulate you for your execellent work there. The little boat is super!!!! When you have the time,I would like you to send me an offer about the following accesories (total cost-delivery+v.a.t included in euros):
2 aluminum seats(SD330), not leasure seats, the plain seats for the boat(unfortunatelly we lost them).
2 Seat Storage Bags (SD330) with Cushion(Grey).
I'm looking forward to hearing from you and I promise this year to send you some photos from our vacations with the sd330 to upload them to your site.
Thanx in advance, Paul. 10th June 2011.
Our second season with our Excel XHD430 has convinced us that our choice for this boat was the best. Two months of boating in Corsican waters have given even more confidence to our judgement.
I am particularly pleased on the choice of the package “ XHD430 - Evinrude 25 ETEC” for the Captain and passengers. Getting on the plane with 8 people on board is easy and sailing in a choppy sea is not a problem at all. I do these comments because of my great experience of all sorts of inflatable boats in any condition! But what is even more astonishing is the incredible sobriety of the pair XHD430 and ETEC 25hp.
Now my Evinrude dealer has recommended me to configure my engine for a 0.5% oil mix! Which I will do with the use of the proper oil. We have now winterized our boat and our engine and stored it but we already feel this need to launch it again.
Best regards, Noël L. France
As discussed today I wanted to formally thank you for the fantastic service you offered in the purchase and fast delivery to Moraira, Spain for my SD330. The quality of the product is superb and it has performed well with a 9.9hp Mariner outboard I have acquired in Spain.
The boat got a lot of good comments on its quality and finish from friends and I would recommend the craft to anyone considering a new inflatable.
Greg Bates, Spain. 1st September 2010.
Thanks again for your help. I wish to say how happy I am with my SD230. I find it well made very portable and sturdy all at a very competitive price.
I am enclosing two photos of my SD230 tethered to my 40 foot tri, which as you know I sailed across the Atlantic to Newport, Road Island in 2005.
Warm Regards, Brian Gitt. Warwick, New York.
"Just a quick note to let you know how pleased we are with our Excel 230 that we purchased from you in September 2006. She, "Tuuli Too", has seen many hours of active service with absolutely no issues whatsoever. In fact many people have said "Nice new tender!" which is testimony to the fact that even after she gets filthy, a quick wash and hose down brings her up like new. We have of course recommended you to anyone who asks and some who haven't!"
Jamie Moir, Hants.
To whom it may concern at Excel Boats:
I bought a 3m inflatable with a 5HP engine and extras (bow canopy) I have to say it was refreshing to buy from such a friendly, trusting and efficient organisation. The service I received was second to none and the process of buying was an enjoyable one. From the moment I picked up the phone there was always a can do attitude with lots of advise on what I really needed. After sales were superb and sent me items that I had damaged without a question. As far as the boat goes it is a great piece of kit that has entertained my two young children (and me!!), it is stable and the engine very reliable and great value for money. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL
I received my boat today. Thank you for you very rapid delivery. It is very nice and the first sea trial with my old Yamaha Malta was ok. Have you tried to use 4 stroke 2,5 Suzuki with this boat? How did it work? My boat will be used mainly as a tender in our 32 ft sailing boat –tours are limited to maximum couple hundred of meters or so.
Considering the space inside the boat the 2,6 version could have been ideal choice – however this boat is very light and outer dimensions are as tiny as I thought so we have very good possibility to lift it on the front deck and still have enough space for spinnaker handling etc.

That was quick across the Atlantic, must have gone in the container the same night after I paid for it, thanks for the prompt service Terry, jolly good show old boy. Carry on.
Jackie and I can’t wait to get out in it, will send you a pic from us in the Caribbean in it for you.
