New Excel VOLAIRE 480 Inflatable Boat.

Excel boat takes centre stage at Rutland Polo Club

An exciting new rapid deployment craft aimed at the Fire and Rescue Service will make its UK debut at the Rescue 3 Europe Technical Rescue Conference in Cardiff.

Excel Boats has chosen the conference and trade show held on May 1 as the ideal venue to launch the all-new Volaire 480 fully inflatable boat.

The much-awaited craft boasts several cutting-edge features to ensure it can withstand the rigours of hard working environments found in emergency rescue services and military theatres.

The lightweight Volaire 480 features an integrated inflatable deck and hull for rapid deployment, along with heavy duty tubes crafted from 1.2mm Hytex fabric for maximum strength and durability. The new hull incorporates a innovative integral design that provides maximum stability at planing speeds. A class leading 1250kg loading capacity with 10-person crew capability will ensure the new boat will become the first choice for operators seeking increased space and safety with enviable handling in the harshest of conditions.

As the newest addition to the Excel Boats model lineup, the 4.8m rescue craft is an extension of the company's Volaire range, joining two existing 3.9m and 4.2m models and a 5.3m version to be launched later this year. Prior to the launch of the range, the largest fully inflatable boat on the market was just 4 metres due to the traditional design of inflatable hull which lost rigidity at longer lengths.

Excel Boats owner, Terry Wright, said: "We are very excited to launch our brand new Volaire 480 at this year's Rescue 3 Technical Conference. With its innovative design tailored specifically towards emergency rescue teams, this new fully inflatable and rapid deployment boat is expected to make a real impact at the show.

"The lightweight craft will be displayed with a Suzuki 20hp outboard proving to be the lightest and highest torque output in its class, with a 30hp maximum capacity. A 9.9hp two stoke outboard from Vector will also be on display. The engine is one of a commercial range of 2 stroke outboards available exclusively for the commercial sector and are are ideal for long-term deployment in all commercial fields. Boats can be supplied in typical colours for commercial operators, red with black trim or black are preferred, but there are a choice of fabric colours as required. We look forward to meeting customers old and new at the event to discuss their individual requirements."
